If you are reading this blog then chances are that you are planning your wedding and now might know and experience, first hand, how hectic this can be. There are so many decisions and details involved in wedding planning and this can play mind tricks on you, as It did with Cristina, our bride here.
So many things happened prior to and leading up to Cristina and James’ wedding that Cristina found she could not stop thinking about it, even on the wedding Altar. But at the end of the day, Cristina and James had a wonderful, fun, and loving wedding, as you about to see in this highlight film.

( Testimonial ) When we got engaged, we made sure that we would have the best photographer and videogarpher for our special day. Thanks to my now sister-in-law, she recommended Dom to us. When I went to his website and saw bunch of his wedding videos, I knew that he’s the one. From then on I contacted Dom and set an appointment.
Our first impression of Dom was, this guy is funny and really fun to work with…. Oh yeah, his pad is really nice, he has good taste. Then we were so impressed of his works once he showed us some of his videos… Without any hesitations, we booked him right then and there.
When our day came, Dom and his crew were on time. They’re very professional. I was afraid that I would act weird around the camera but we did not even notice that they’re there. He made me feel comfortable while shooting…. And we really felt like stars….
Dom is also prompt, he showed us our wedding trailer the day after the wedding and it was so elegant and dramatic as I was hoping for, i think he read my mind. I was so proud of his work that I shared the video on my facebook, and I couldn’t believe how many people liked it…. The video had 100 hits in just less than 24 hours. He’s also fast on answering your e-mail unlike other vendors.
Finally, when our videos were done, we picked them up right away. Our music video is fantastic. It’s mix of comedy, drama and elegance. Dom really knows what his clients want. He got all the important parts of our wedding and put it in a video. We actually had teary eyes because it’s so good. It’s even better that our music video is blu ray, it’s so clear and nice. We even got 3 copies of a 4 hour edited videos plus a raw footage… you can’t even get that from another vendors.
Our videos are so perfect. It’s like reliving the moment. He really captured everything that went to our wedding. We watched it so many times and never got tired of it. We can’t wait to show our videos to the rest of our families. No words can really explain how good Dom is. Dom and his crew are highly recommended…..
– Cristina

How can a wedding undo a big disappointment from 25 years ago? This is something that we would like you to find out from this …

How can a wedding undo a big disappointment from 25 years ago? This is something that we would like you to find out from this highlight film below.

( Testimonial ) It’s hard to put in words how beautiful our wedding video came out because no words can do it justice! Dom is an artistic genius and his passion for shooting weddings is amazing to see. I knew from the beginning that I wanted a video of our big day, but I wanted to make sure I was going to have someone who knew what he was doing. When Dom showed my husband and I scenes from weddings he’s done before, I was sold. I loved how Dom and his team paid close attention to detail and captured every important moment of the day. That’s what we wanted, and Dom delivered! From the moment he arrived to my house to shoot the “bride getting ready” to the end of the night when we had our last dance and said goodbye to our wedding guests, Dom and his team were right there making sure to capture it all. Our wedding had 200 guests and there was a lot going on, but Dom made sure that his eyes we on us the whole time, and yet was still able to get footage of everyone else around us at the party! For example, my Grandmother randomly called me over to her table and I thought she wanted to give me a hug and a kiss, no big deal. I was wrong. She wanted to give me a special gift right there at the table…a gold bracelet heirloom that meant a lot to her. When I turned around Dom was right there shinning the spotlight on us to make sure he had it on video. We were at a bad angle, and he had us turn to face the camera so he could get the footage of my grandma putting the bracelet on me. Wow, Dom you are so awesome!!! I didn’t even know you were there! Also I really appreciated when Dom asked my husband and I towards the end of the night if he can tape us in some scenes in the lobby area of our hotel so he can get some beautiful footage of us in the nice scenic background of our wedding venue. He did some research and located the best spots of our venue to do a photo shoot of my husband and I. That footage is breath taking!!!! Our own photographer that I hired didn’t even do that, but Dom did!! That’s the difference between just getting your job done and going above and beyond to have the perfect video. We truly do have the perfect video. We love it!
The music video that shows the highlight of our wedding night is priceless. I can’t stop watching it because it shows all the main parts of the wedding that are the most memorable in a 4-5 minute music video. It’s great when I don’t feel like watching, or have the time to watch the full 4 hour video! It’s a great summary of our night put to the song of your choice! When I gave Dom the approval for posting it on his website, I quickly shared the link on facebook so my friends and family could watch it. THEY LOVED IT! We couldn’t have chosen a better videographer to shoot the most important day of our lives, our wedding! A thousand thank you’s to Dom and his team for there hard work, vision, time, dedication, and true passion for what they do. Sincerely. – Gessica & Gabriel

Tears (of joy) in a wedding are not a stranger to me. I saw a couple cry while they exchanged their …

Tears (of joy) in a wedding are not a stranger to me. I saw a couple cry while they exchanged their wedding vows. I saw a couple cry on their first dance and in their father daughter/ mother son dances. I even saw the maid of honor cry while giving toast to the couple. They still always touch me yet hardly surprise me.
However in this wedding of Marcy and Vance, I found theirs tears in an unexpected place – while their were cutting their wedding cake!
As you will see in this highlight film, there were so many laughs in this wedding. But at the end of the night-right after when the couple cut their cake, they looked at each other and just like that, tears started coming down from Marcy’s eyes (unstoppable). And I surely can feel their unspoken love. This is what I call an unexpected, precious moment. It touches me so much that I put this right at the beginning of this highlight film.
Marcy and Vance picked this song “Built to last” which has this lyric: “Cause this is real, and this is good. It warms the inside just like it should …”.
And that’s exactly how I felt and created this highlight film for Marcy and Vance with the feeling of a summer breeze, refreshing and heartwarming …

( Testimonial ) My biggest advice to brides and grooms besides hiring a DOC is to hire a videographer. At the end of the day, all you’ll have left are pictures and videos. As a former bride, I must emphasize that the day will go by so terribly fast that you’ll want to relive the moments and to catch those that you missed.
Hiring Dom and his team was one of the easiest decisions that I made during my entire wedding planning. Dom responses to emails super fast and is a steal for his quality of work. He is super easy to work with and on the day of the wedding, you know you’ll be in good hands.
On the day of my wedding, Dom arrived before I did. He greeted me and for the rest of the day, I forgot he was even there! He was super professional and worked very well with my photographer.
I couldn’t be happier with the final product. One of the things that I liked most was the highlight/music video. It’s nice to relive the day in 4 minutes versus watching the entire video. Not going to lie…I totally cried when I watched the video! Dom captured all the important moments and even the moments that I didn’t know existed.
Dom is really in tune with what a bride/ grooms wants and feels. I highly recommend Dom and his team. – MARCY

What a Korean mother wished for her own daughter is fascinating.
She did not wish for a big house or a big bank account for her …

What a Korean mother wished for her own daughter is fascinating.

She did not wish for a big house or a big bank account for her daughter. She only wish for her child to find a true love. And that child did! (The whole thing got explained in the first part of this highlight film)

The song that we use in this video is a poetry which describes how “the moment” can be so overwhelming, beautiful and emotional until it takes your breath away.
And that’s exactly how we ( the bride and I ) feel about it.

( Testimonial ) At first we didn’t think of even having a videographer for our wedding, but realized after seeing other wedding music video clips and at the suggestion of family, how meaningful they could be in capturing the sights and sounds of our big day that we were planning.
We found Bay Area VDO through the Best of Bay Area site, and contacted Dom about potentially filming our wedding. From the first time we met with Dom, he was always so friendly and professional. He was very clear about the packages that he offers, the hours of filming and videographers. Dom takes pride in his work and makes it clear that he wants to know what is important to the couple in filming their wedding, such as people, places and details that he and his team should film, and any stylistic preferences.
We appreciated his honesty in setting real expectations on film styles that his team can/can’t do, depending on the wedding venue, lighting, etc. Despite his very busy schedule of filming, editing and meeting with clients (he gets booked up quickly!), Dom is extremely responsive with email and always gets back to you in a very timely manner when setting up meetings and answering questions, which is so helpful when dealing with multiple vendors in the planning process.
With the hours of video that his team (3-4 videographers) shoots (Dom is there to film himself and doesn’t outsource to other videographers), he edits the film to make music videos of the important parts of your wedding such as: Getting Ready and Pre/Post Ceremony, in addition to the wedding music video that sums up the big day. He also offers a Blu-Ray copy included with the package!
We are so glad not only to have photos of our wedding, but to also have film of meaningful moments such as the best man/maid of honor speech, first dance, and to see our guests mingling while we were getting ready.
We would definitely recommend Bay Area VDO to anyone looking for a videographer for a special event! To couples thinking about Bay Area VDO, we would suggest booking early. – Richard.

Since Jason and Michelle live outside of the Bay Area, we never met them until their wedding day. Of course, before …

Since Jason and Michelle live outside of the Bay Area, we never met them until their wedding day. Of course, before the wedding, we made sure that we got all the information about their wedding and what they wanted in their wedding film. Yet we had no idea about how the couple met.
So on the wedding day, out of nowhere, while Michelle was getting ready, she started to tell the story of how they met to her friends. I grabbed my camera and started to shoot the whole thing. It wasn’t in the original plan to even shoot and include this story in the highlight film at all. But after much thought and contemplation, I knew that their love story was fascinating (almost like a romantic comedy movie) so I decided to include it. The story is of how a fake proposal turned into a true love, and a wedding a decade later… (Please see this highlight film at the bottom of this page)

( Testimonial ) When choosing a videographer, I really didn’t know where to start. None of my friends really gave me any recommendations, so I had to look on the internet. I came across Dom and Bay Area VDO Productions. One view of the highlight video on their website and I was sold. The video looked so amazing. But I thought, our video will probably only be half as good (because that was probably the best work they ever did). Well, I was wrong.
When we first talked to Dom on the phone he was friendly and very accommodating. Due to my wife and me not living in the Bay Area, we had corresponded only though e-mails and phone contact. We only met Dom on the day of our wedding. After speaking with Dom though, he put us at ease and we felt confident that he would do a great job. Once again, we underestimated Dom. He not only did a great job, he did an outstanding job.
On the day of the wedding, Dom and his crew were professional and fun. They stayed out of the way when they needed to be, but were the first to step into the front to make sure that a particular event was being captured. They were not demanding and most of the time I only remember seeing them in the corner of my eye, filming everything. After receiving and viewing all the footage, we noticed that Dom and his crew filmed everything. They didn’t miss a thing.
The final project was worth the wait. Our friends and family initially thought it was taking too long, but once they watched it, everyone cried at how beautiful the video was and admitted that the wait was worth it. Every time my wife and I watch the video, we tear up a bit because it is so beautiful. We’ve seen other peoples videos (not from Bay Area VDO) and they are basic and are nice, but they are not even close to the quality and artistry of ours. Watch the previews on the website and see the quality of the shots and the awesome editing.
Dom is not just a videographer, he is an artist and the way he edited our video it was almost as if he were a part of our family and wanted the best shots and the best editing (which he does for all his clients). Dom also seemed like he put his whole heart into the project (which he did), which we appreciate. Thank you Dom and Bay Area VDO for making us a video that we will cherish forever. -Jason

As the other night was Halloween, it reminds me of how Stephanie and Carlos met and their love story (The couple told their love story in their own words, right at the beginning of this highlight film).
It has been 8 years now that we have been privileged to be a part of countless weddings and it makes me come to believe in one thing now:
For one day, the wedding day, the couple happens to be immune to all the heat, cold, wet; and time seems to pass by like thunder. Before they knew, Stephanie and Carlos’ wedding had come to the end of the night. They were in the bliss and had no idea that they had just had their outdoor wedding on one of the hottest days in Bay Area records. So much love overwhelmed the couple and that ’s all you can see and feel from this highlight film. Neither the heat nor any hard feelings appeared, just tears of joy coming down from their cheeks.

( Testimonial ) We are so happy that we picked Dom and his crew to do our wedding video!!! We could not be any happier with the work he has done for us. This was an important decision for us because this video is going to be around for forever. After meeting with Dom we were sold! He really makes you feel at ease with his warm and friendly personality. He took into account all wants and needs and discussed every detail with us. His prices are great and his work is high quality. Dom was able to capture every moment of our wedding day. His work is amazing!!- Carlos

First Love

Who could ever forget their first love? Surely not Brian or Jamie. Yet their first love has been so strong that they made it through many years and so much perseverance. I believe the first-3-minute intro in this video and their music video sum up their love story very well.
On a personal note, from the wedding day through the process of editing and even now, watching this video, I have found myself having big smiles and choking up again and again. Love still lights up my world and touches my heart.

(Testimonial) Dom and his team were absolutely amazing. After much research about videographers and reading reviews on yelp, we came across Bay Area Vdo and were very pleased with the review. What really sealed the deal was Dom’s passion for his work. From when we first met him, to the wedding, and to now Dom has been so friendly and professional. His team was amazing and throughout the wedding I would forget he was there sometimes cause he was so smoothe and never in the way like at some weddings I have seen. When I did remember he was there he would be looking through the camera smiling and really enjoying his job. He was a pleasure to work with and in only a few hours interaction with him, my wife and I felt a good connection. Lastly and more importantly the quality of the DVD’s and the special touch he added to our videos was outstanding. He went above and beyond with his services and we could not have chosen a better videographer for our wedding. Cheers Dom to an amazing job!- Brian

Fernando met Cynthia in an early year of their medical school. However, this isn’t a typical love-at-first-sight story. In fact, It took years before they even started dating. In that time, they were able to develop a strong friendship and before they knew it they had transformed their relationship from best friends to sweethearts.

The couple picked a Spanish song that reflects their personal love story. As a part of this song keeps singing….
” Blessed God for meeting us on the road,
And for taking away this solitude from my destiny.
Blessed be the light, blessed be the light of your gaze
Coming from the soul.”
For me, True love could take a long time to transform. Yet when It happens, It will touch your soul and breathe a new meaning into your life.

(Testimonial) Dom and his crew are AMAZING!!! My husband and I could not be happier with our wedding video. During the wedding planning, we knew that photography and videography were very important to us. We looked around at several videographers’ work in the area. Bay Area VDO was our number one choice–the music videos on the web were very touching and seemed to really capture the full wedding day. I am not a crier, but I found myself getting teary eyed at many of these clips—without even knowing these people! Dom and his crew were so nice. Upon our first meeting, I knew he’d be great to work with. The crew is very professional, and they really do seem to capture all those special moments w/o even realizing they are there. They were an amazing addition to our special day. Really going the extra mile for the sake of having great video footage—our church was very strict about where videographers could shoot from, and Dom took it upon himself to add an extra videographer last minute because he knew it would be a challenge to get great angles with these restrictions. He even let me borrow his umbrella as a prop for pictures–beautiful white lace. – Cynthia

Once again even we had a great opportunity to shoot a beautiful wedding in a very exquisite place, the City Hall of San Francisco – the fifth largest dome in the world. But what makes this film feel more like a fairy tale to me is not the venue, but the love story behind it.

Once upon a time, when most of American were still using AOL (yes, it’s been a long time), Vincent and Susanna met in the same laboratory class. Vincent knew right then and there that there was something very special about Susanna yet he was too nervous to ask her phone number. So he asked her AOL name and asked her out on a date (more like a chat….online) and their story began. However, sometimes, life puts you to a test that could make or break your relationship: they had to spend 4 long years apart. Yet they managed to stay in love through a great, long time and distance. And here we are in one of the most majestic and fairly-tale-ish love stories ever!

( Testimonial ) We were one of those couples that took a lot of time with finding & booking our wedding vendors (ie photographer, videographer, florist, etc). After asking other couples and reading many reviews on yelp, we finally found Dom & Bay Area VDO. We were skeptical mainly because of the many other videographers we met with. However, Dom was the perfect person for our job! Initial Meeting: Dom initially put us at ease and took the time to listen to us and our preferences. He was willing to work with us regarding venues and what we looked for in final products. He showed us some of his finished work, which got us hooked. His final videos were superb – hard to describe – it’s one of those things that you just have to see. Dom was very professional throughout this entire process. We negotiated what we wanted, and Dom was very open to everything. After our initial meeting, we sent a few emails back and forth, and signed a contract. FYI, Dom’s agreement is 1/2 up-front and half at the final meeting (2-3 months after the wedding). I thought this was more than fair since it gave incentives to both of us. Wedding Day: Our wedding day started with the bridal party getting ready in a hotel suite – and sure enough, Dom showed up on time with his crew (he even traveled across the bay bridge!). From the first moments to the last, his crew was hardly noticeable – which was a definite plus. Dom rarely asked us to pose and kept the cameras running the entire time. He seemed to know where to put his crew at all times, and were out of the way of our photographers. This certainly wasn’t his first professional outing, which we appreciated. When we moved to our ceremony location, he moved with us with ease. Same goes for our reception. Sometimes I forgot about him, and it was nice not having to worry about him – he knew exactly what he was doing. Wedding video:
Dom had the video(s) done earlier than promised, which was a pleasant surprise. When we rushed home to watch it, the DVD was extraordinary. You could tell that he put A LOT of time into it – it was hardly a clip-and-insert job. The music was spot on and the footage was spectacular. Dom certainly is an artist and we appreciated his conservative approach to the videos. Particularly, the music video was phenomenal. We probably watched it over-and-over 10+ times that night, and still are in awe at how good thing this is. In short: It was nice not having to worry about Dom and his crew and knowing that they were doing their job well. Dom figured out exactly how to adapt to our situations and effortlessly captured our moments to our expectations. We both recommend Dom and Bay Area VDO wholeheartedly. Also, his price range is extremely competitive AND his final products are top-of-the-line, hands down.- Vincent

We all have a dream of our lives. A dream to be someone, a dream to do or own something. And we grew up …

We all have a dream of our lives. A dream to be someone, a dream to do or own something. And we grew up watching all the Hollywood movies and TV shows which all ended their stories with a big dreamy wedding scene, making Maricruz dream of only one thing: “having a beautiful wedding of her own”. And she did. Maricuz and Miguel threw the full traditional Latin wedding and got everything that they dreamed of. Even though the couple are people of only a few words, Maricruz and Miguel were so happy that they could not stop smiling. Their day dream had come true.
On a personal note, I love the candid scene of the couple dancing on the dance floor (at the end of this highlight video). I feel their love glow and bloom in the most beautiful and natural way, every time that I watch it.
I feel that we are so blessed to be embraced with couples who come from all different cultures, backgrounds and walks of life. This makes me realize that “Love comes in all kind of colors and cultures yet the feeling’s always mutual, It’s Love”.

(Testimonial) We started to plan our wedding a year and half before the big date. Although, I am a huge fan of capturing my family’s most precious and significant moments- With a tight budget, I thought that a photographer would suffice for the day of my wedding. After browsing the web and coming across VDO productions and its great reviews I did not hesitate to make and appointment with Dom. Dom has an amazing work ethic and am amazing personality- what else could you ask from a vendor who will be a part of your big day? As soon as we met Dom he shared his passion for his work, showed us sample videos, explained his packages and made sure that all of our questions were answered. We were planning a latin wedding and thought that we had to explain ever detail to Dom- but Oh were we surprised! He knew and had seen it all. Dom’s experience with weddings surprised us, in a good way. Dom made sure that our family was comfortable and that he captured it all. He went above and beyond to make sure things played out as originally planned. I loved my wedding! watching my wedding video over and over again makes me re-live (literally) my entire wedding. I would not hesitate to recommend Dom to anyone. Dom is able to captured a special moment for you to remember for a lifetime. Muchas Gracias Dom!

In my 7 years as a wedding cinematographer, this is probably one of the most bittersweet stories that I ever experienced. And it is NOT the story that appears on this video but what happened the morning after that makes this story worth sharing. It’s the true story that shows you how strong one’s love can be… the Love that gives one so much strength. As a matter of fact, the bride, Tina, just shared this story with me 2 weeks ago when she came to pick up her wedding video from me.
Just one month before Tina’s wedding, out of no where, her father got diagnosed with last-stage cancer and no one was really sure how much time they have left to be with one another. Tina even considered cancelling her own wedding. But one thing that kept her going was that her father kept saying, “Who will walk you down the aisle?”. Just one simple question but it kept both of them going. Her father kept holding on until the wedding arrived and he got to walk her down the aisle. So even though he was so fragile, his wish had been fulfilled. On the very next morning he passed away.
Now I understand why Tina picked this song for her music video. Even the music video just demonstrated the jubilance of this wedding but the song keeps singing, “We may only have tonight / But ’til the morning sun, you’re mine, all mine”. And this story of Tina and her father just gave a new, deeper meaning to this song. I know from now on, every time that I listen to this song, I will always remember Tina and her father and how their love carried them through the darkest hours and the most meaningful time of their lives.

( Testimonial )Hiring a videographer to capture our wedding was one of the most important decisions we had to make. This along with pictures and memories was going to be all we had after the big day. We met with several videographers and after seeing Dom’s work, speaking with him then finally meeting him, we knew we found our guy. Lets start with the reasons why. First off, his pricing was competitive and in our package we got 3 videographers for 12 hours!! That was what we needed to capture the day. (Other videographers had strict time constraints with additional charges after the time and 2 videographers, and that wasn’t fitting for me and my fiance’s wedding). With me getting ready to the guests at my house to the end of the reception with our cultural traditions, there is no way we could have someone for less time, or pay more for less. Also, Dom said he would be there to capture and he was. Sadly, I know some brides whose hired videographer sent their staff to tape instead of coming themselves. We sat down before the wedding and he took notes of what I wanted him to be sure to capture, which he did and leads me to my next point. We needed someone with multi-cultural experience. Dom had it. In fact, when I told him my ethnicity, he showed me reletive work he has done in the past. It was a relief to speak to someone who was exposed already to our traditions and knew from experience what to expect. Great way of knowing your audience Dom!!! Next, Dom gave us the final product up to 4 hours edited video and all the raw footage. This sounded way more appealing to us compared to others who would only sum it up to 45mn-1hour and charge extra if you wanted the footage!! This is the way I looked at it, it was our wedding, we want to see the moments and all the footage too. My fiance and I weren’t settling for less. It was actually a big big deal breaker for us. Lastly, he was so professional on the day of and timely with the final product. (we got our video and we have been married for less than 3 months). I know some people who have had to wait up to 1 year for their video.
Long story short, if you hire Dom, you will not be disappointed!!! – Tina

This wedding is, by far, the most exotic and high energy wedding that we’ve seen (and we have seen and been working for at least 300 wedding throughout our 8 years).
This Ethiopian wedding has no speeches or toasts, just dancing from sunrise until 2 a.m.

I have heard of the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” as ancient way of life in African cultures. But, for the first time, I saw it with my own eyes and it’s quite touching in a very ancient, earnest and spiritual way. The couple has not only the real parents, who love them so much, but throughout this wedding we saw their godfathers and godmothers (in their spiritual and culture ways) express such a great love to the couple. They embraced, kissed and cried to each other so much that we thought these godfathers and godmothers were the real parents.

Seeing parents express their love to their children always touches me. But to see these godfathers and godmothers, some not even related to the couple at all, express this great love and passion to the couple is beyond words for me.

If it takes a village to raise a child and get results like these, then I say, so be it. Because when we have this much love and joy flowing around, it surely feels like a little heaven to me.

( Testimonial ) We found Dom on yelp for our wedding on July 30 2011, we loved that he had so many positive feedback from his customers who were happy with the outcome of their videos. We met up with him at his house to discuss the possibility of having him shoot our wedding. He was so kind and passionate about his work and we knew immediately after meeting with him that we wanted him to capture our big day. We are from Ethiopia and weddings are Huge and 15-16 hrs long. The day of the wedding Dom and his staff came on time and they were very professional and all of our guests were impressed by their professionalism. Dom was so much fun to work with and his work is Amazing. Today we met up with Dom to pick up our wedding video and he is still so kind and passionate about his work. We were so happy and touched by his generosity. Our wedding day was 16 hours long and he captured all the special moments ( especially all the dance because we Ethiopians love to dance). We got home and we watched all the DVD that he gave us total of 5 hours and we were Amazed and Happy. His work was beyond our expectation and our wedding was Beautiful and a blast. He captured every aspect of our Ethiopian culture and he did not leave anything that was important to us out of the video. He went above and beyond to capture our wedding day and we are forever grateful for the wonderful memories that he gave us. Dom, we love you and thank you. We highly recommend Dom and his crew to film your wedding because they are the BEST. – Semira
